In late 2018, our client was driving their car when suddenly and unexpected they were t-boned by a distracted ride-share driver who was paying more attention to his phone, than the road, and who ran a red light crashing into our client’s vehicle.

The crash was so bad that the client ended up having multiple surgeries to help provide some relief from her injuries. Immediately, Kanner & Pintaluga took up the fight on behalf of our client to make sure she was fully compensated for what was done to her, but more so for what was taken from her. Violent crashes and the subsequent injuries do not happen in a vacuum and often interfere will all areas of our lives. Our client’s life was forever changed and we wanted to make sure that she would be taken care of forever. Unfortunately, the ride-share company refused to initially take responsibility for their driver’s inattentiveness.

Due to the company’s refusal to take responsibility, a lawsuit was filed and trial attorney Mina Gracia along with Principal Howard Kanner conducted an extensive investigation with respect to the ride-share company’s policies and procedures for communicating with their drivers. Distractions come at us from everywhere when we’re driving and as a society we have the right to expect that these companies will not put profits over safety by trying to motivate their drivers to commit to future rides even before finishing the rides they are on. Ultimately, this theory struck a nerve and the Firm was able to secure more than $1,300,000 for our client.
