In September 2016, our client was on his way home after a long day of work at a South Florida construction site. As he proceeded southbound on a one-way street, a driver heading eastbound ignored a stop sign and slammed into the passenger side of his vehicle. Due to the impact, our client missed time from work and suffered an aggravation of pre-existing spinal issues which required a spinal fusion.

Due to the negligent driver’s actions, Kanner & Pintaluga’s personal injury trial team, led by Howard Kanner, filed suit against the driver and their insurer. After more than four years of litigation, during which the driver consistently denied fault for the crash and the insurance company blamed our client’s injuries on his “blue collar job,” the case reached the top of the trial docket. With trial attorney Leon O. Hunter prepared to try the case, the driver and their insurer accepted our client’s settlement demand of $350,000 one week before jury selection started.
