Orlando, FL – The Firm’s Personal Injury Litigation Practice recently resolved a personal injury case involving dual claims for both a husband and wife against a driver who was insured by GEICO, for the insurance company’s full insurance policy limits of $500,000 ($250,000 for each) after four years of intense litigation.

The case involved a motor vehicle collision with disputed liability that occurred on US Highway 27 in Polk County, Florida, back in November 2014. After attempting to resolve the case amicably without the need of a lawsuit, the firm’s personal injury team, led by Howard Kanner, then filed suit in April 2017 to protect its clients’ rights against the Defendant driver. The Plaintiffs both claimed injuries to their neck and back, respectively. The causation, extent, and permanency of these injuries were hotly contested by the Defendant and GEICO during litigation. After several depositions were taken and liability experts were hired by both sides, offers were subsequently made by GEICO that were substantially less than their full policy limits. In the end, KP trial attorney Matt Levy was able to finally convince GEICO’s defense attorney to tender the carrier’s full insurance policy limits of $500,000 and resolve the case without the necessity of a trial.
