Atlanta, GA – The Firm’s Georgia Personal Injury Practice recently reached a $400,000 settlement for injuries and damages sustained when a large semi-truck made a bad lane change, causing a multiple vehicle crash.

In January 2021, our client was heading southbound on an interstate outside of Atlanta, when suddenly and without warning a semi-truck made an improper lane change causing the it to rear-end our client whose vehicle proceeded to spin out, strike a third vehicle, and ultimately lead to a five vehicle pileup. The crash resulted in our client suffering severe spinal injuries, requiring a number of back injections and surgical correction of his lower back.

Kanner & Pintaluga’s Georgia personal injury team led by Partner Kevin Sobel, along with Attorney Gustavo Mendez, helped our client get the medical care he needed in order to physically recover and then fought to get him the compensation he deserved. The at-fault driver’s primary insurance company initially offered just over $78,000. After multiple exchanges with the opposing counsel, as well as the defense’s attempt to drag the case out through mediation, Mr. Sobel and Mr. Mendez were able to reach a final settlement of $400,000 — 5 times the amount of the original offer.
