Atlanta, GA – Maria Jose “MJ” Tortorello joins Kanner & Pintaluga as an attorney in the Firm’s Personal Injury Practice in Atlanta.

MJ’s practice focuses on advocating for the rights of those injured due to the negligence of others. Before joining Kanner & Pintaluga, MJ practiced criminal law. She worked as a prosecutor for the Fulton County Solicitor General’s Office, which is the largest solicitor general’s office in Georgia and the Southeast. There she prosecuted over 60 cases a week, by preparing cases for hearings and trial, attending court daily, and speaking to witnesses and victims of crime. Prior to being a prosecutor, MJ was a defense attorney at a law firm in Jonesboro, where she mainly represented indigent clients accused of misdemeanor offenses. MJ is very passionate about justice and is eager to help clients get the compensation they deserve.

MJ graduated from the University of South Florida with B.A. in Journalism. She then completed her J.D. at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. MJ is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, and the Atlanta Bar Association. She is admitted to plead and practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. She is also part of the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers Division. MJ is bilingual in English and Spanish.
