Gene “Tony” Watkins, Esq. is an attorney in Kanner & Pintaluga’s Personal Injury Group.
Gene possesses extensive trial experience, including 20 criminal and civil jury trials, demonstrating a strong ability to achieve favorable outcomes in complex matters.
Gene received a B.A. from the University of Houston. He completed his J.D. at Thurgood Marshall School of Law. He was on the Dean’s List in the Fall ‘06, Spring ‘07, and Fall ‘07 and received a certificate in Sports Law.
Gene has obtained specialized legal certifications, including Certified Mediator in 2012, and continues to engage in continuing legal education to stay at the forefront of developments in Personal Injury group.
Gene has achieved several significant milestones in his legal career, including:
- ADEA Claim: Gene was asked to appear before 5th Circuit for Oral Argument. While a significant number of cases are filed annually, only a portion are selected for oral argument (approx. 30%), while the rest are decided based on written submissions (70%).
- Murder Case: dismissed.
- Murder Case: reduced to Manslaughter, Defendant granted probation.
- Summary Judgment win in Southern District of Texas on claim of Retaliation (Employment) case for Plaintiff.
