Samantha Gutierrez is an attorney in Kanner & Pintaluga’s Personal Injury Group.
Samantha possesses 7 years of trial experience, including 7 as 1st chair and 5 as 2nd chair in civil jury trials, demonstrating a strong ability to achieve favorable outcomes in complex matters.
Prior to joining Kanner & Pintaluga, Samantha was the sole litigating attorney at a personal injury firm for 5 years. Prior to that, she was a personal injury firm clerk throughout law school.
Samantha received a B.A. from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She completed her J.D. at John Marshall Law School. Samantha started law school at the age of 20, having graduated high school early, and was sworn in as an attorney at the age of 23.
Samantha has achieved several significant milestones in her legal career, including:
- Settling a case for over a million in mediation against CTA for amputating a client’s leg above the knee while he was attempting to board the bus
- Settling a federal case against a life insurance company wrongfully denying wrongful living benefits, providing coverage in the event of a severe medical issue
- Winning an arbitration of a UM policy for $950,000 for an Uber driver with preexisting neck and back pain and aggravation of said pain resulting from a hit-and-run driver
- Representing a single mother in probate to be appointed the independent administrator of her son’s father, who died jumping into a pool drunk, I recovered over half a million dollars in life insurance benefits from her son’s deceased father’s estate
