Boca Raton, FL – 2021 data from the American Bar Association show that despite recent gains over the past decade, just 15% of the 1.3 million U.S. attorneys are from minority groups. By contrast, minorities comprise 40% of the U.S. population, according to the most recent figures from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Broward County Hispanic Bar Association (BSHBA) and Kanner & Pintaluga recognize the importance of increasing the visibility of Hispanic legal professionals in order to better reflect our society and to better serve our clients. Amongst the newest members of the Association are Kanner & Pintaluga attorneys Carlos Bruzual, Fiorella Gasco, and Maria Sanchez who reflect the vibrant and growing Hispanic legal community.
“We are delighted to have Fiorella, Maria and Carlos representing Kanner & Pintaluga in the BCHBA,” said Gigi Norton, Director of Marketing for Kanner & Pintaluga. “As a Hispanic owned law firm, Kanner & Pintaluga is grateful for the efforts of the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association. Their tireless dedication to promoting diversity and equality has paved the way for us and the next generation of Hispanic legal professionals.”
In addition to adding attorneys to the BCHBA, Kanner & Pintaluga will be the exclusive sponsor of the Association’s “Broadening Horizons” Law School Scholarship Program for 2022.
The scholarships are generally given to South Florida law students who demonstrate a passion for helping others — a hallmark of Kanner & Pintaluga. This year’s Award Ceremony and Installation Brunch is scheduled for July 10, 2022 at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel.
